The Federal Lemon Law is called the Magnuson-Moss Warranty-Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act

The Federal Lemon Law Magnuson-Moss Warranty applies to any product warranty and mediation.  The Federal Lemon Law gives consumers considerable rights in lemon autos mediations. The Federal Lemon Law guarantees provides for disclosure of warranties before a car purchase.  It guarantees that if any part of the lemon auto, or the car itself is considered defective, the warrantor must permit the buyer the choice of either a refund or replacement of the product.

Under the Federal Lemon Law a consumer may pursue his Federal Lemon auto lawsuit in state court to enforce the Magnuson-Moss Act.  The Federal Lemon Law allows attorney's fees.  The Federal lemon auto law also covers many unethical warranty and mediation claims settlement practices and such as paying mediators or making warranties vague and then denying claims.  

Federal Lemon Auto Laws mention how mediation should be unbiased. However, lemon auto mediation and mediators are inherently biased by being paid for by the manufacturers and violate the Federal lemon auto law mediation standards.  Offers of complete refunds are rare and the most common awards from the BBB is a denial of the claim or an offer of an extended warranty.  Rarely are refunds or cash awards granted.  Perhaps this is because the mediator was always paid by the auto manufacturer under the BBB mediation system and the BBB arbitration is itself supported and paid by car manufacturers. 

Normally you should hire an attorney instead to negotiate or mediate your claim.  A mediator is often biased by being paid by the car manufacturer this violates the fairness standard of the Federal lemon auto laws.  In some cases the mediator has even been offered employment by the manufacturers if he gives "good decisions".
